Conclusion
Apart from the points mentioned earlier, both devices are essentially identical. The transition from Paperwhite 5 to Paperwhite 6 didn't introduce many changes, especially compared to the shift from Paperwhite 4 to 5. However, the screen upgrade is a nice addition, as is the slight improvement in speed.
Amazon claims that the new Paperwhite offers 25% faster page turns, and initially, this appeared to be accurate. However, after updating my 11th gen Paperwhite to the latest 5.17.1 software version, released recently, the page turn speed noticeably improved, now matching that of the 12th gen model. While most actions on the new Paperwhite are slightly quicker, the page turn speed is essentially the same following the software update.
In summary, the Paperwhite 6 offers several key improvements over the Paperwhite 5, such as a larger display, quicker performance, and longer battery life, making it an excellent choice for those who value efficiency and extended use. While the weight difference is minimal, the faster charging and enhanced features contribute to a smoother reading experience. However, from my personal perspective, the Paperwhite 6 doesn't offer significant enough improvements to warrant an upgrade.
